Preparations are underway for an exhibition telling the story of the St. Joseph's Foundation Orphanage, which operated in the Lidzbark castle in the years 1859-1932.
- Pages from notebooks and lesson plans found during renovation works are subject to conservation. Crumpled, together with old papers and tow, they were stuck in the frame of the door to the Great Refectory. These are, m.in, calligraphy exercises, essays, lesson plans.
- The exhibition will be presented in a room on the ground floor, in the west wing, adjacent to the former castle kitchen, where sanitary facilities were set up for the needs of the orphanage in the mid-nineteenth century, using a medieval sewer draining water from the castle courtyard to the Łyna River.
The exhibition is carried out as part of the project "Conservation and restoration of the fourteenth-century castle in Lidzbark Warmiński – pearls of Gothic architecture in Poland – stage III" is co-financed from funds received from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway as part of the EEA funds, from the state budget and co-financed by the Local Government of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.
