The office of Bishop Ignacy Krasicki is located in the former cupboard of the Lidzbark castle. Krasicki spent 29 years in Lidzbark, arriving here in 1767 when he was only 31 years old.
He fulfilled his episcopal duties, but most of all he created, wrote, beautified, m.in, the bishop's palace on the zwing, took care of the gardens, and gathered collections of works of art. He turned the Lidzbark residence into a wonderful place, a place of culture, literature, music, art...
The surfaces of the vault and walls were subjected to conservation treatments, mainly aimed at consolidating and consolidating the paintings. Nowadays you can admire landscape paintings from the times and foundations of Bishop Ignacy Krasicki. Fragments of earlier Gothic ornamental paintings are also visible.
Conservation as part of the project "Conservation and restoration of the fourteenth-century castle in Lidzbark Warmiński – pearls of Gothic architecture in Poland – stage III", implemented with funds received from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway as part of the EEA funds and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
