Founded in 1760 by bishop Adam Stanisław Grabowski, as part of the new, rococo decoration of the chapel.
Their creator is Christoph Heinrich Obuch, (1713-1787), educated in the workshop of organ builder Adam Gottlob Casparini in Königsberg and Andreas Hildebrandt (1687?-1762) in Gdańsk. The instrument is placed in a beautiful carved and gilded organ prospect created in the years 1760-1761, in the workshop of the sculptor Christian Bernard Schmidt from Reszel. To this day, to get the sound - as in the eighteenth century - you need not only an organist, but also a calicanth, a person pumping air into the organ bellows.
