At the beginning of September 2009, in the Copernicus Halls of the Olsztyn Castle, an agreement was signed for co-financing the project Rescue conservation works of the cloisters of the Lidzbarski Castle with the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, represented by Mr. Piotr Żuchowski, Secretary of State and Mr. Janusz Gypsy, Director of the Museum of Warmia and Mazury. Support was provided by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through funding from the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area, a priority for the Protection of European Cultural Heritage.
Project objective: The general objective of the project is to protect cultural heritage and increase the tourist attractiveness of Lidzbark Warmiński.

The amount of co-financing from the funds of the Self-Government of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship – EUR 246 497
Scope of work in the project:
1. Repair of the cloister roof
2. Renovation of the paving surface of the courtyard and its drainage
3. Maintenance of brick threads of the cloister walls with a sundial
4. Conservation of stone elements of cloisters (columns, stairs, portals) and wooden balustrade
5. Conservation of exposed polychromes on the walls and vaults of cloisters and interdisciplinary research of other polychromes
Completion: 23.04.2009 – 30.04.2011r.
Place of implementation: The project will be implemented in the castle in Lidzbark Warmiński (Warmia Museum, Branch of the Museum of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn), in the municipality of Lidzbark Warmiński, Lidzbark poviat, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.
