The Museum of Warmia and Mazury will implement a project worth PLN 17.5 million!

The Museum of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, by the decision of the Prime Minister Prof. Piotr Gliński, Minister of Culture, National Heritage and Sport, received funding for the application submitted as part of the call for projects for Measure 1 Improvement of cultural heritage management of the Culture Programme financed from the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area and the state budget. Our project: "Conservation and restoration of the fourteenth-century castle in Lidzbark Warmiński – pearls of Gothic architecture in Poland – iii stage" received funding in the amount of PLN 12,241,767.88 for a project worth PLN 17,488,886.43. 224 applications from all over the country took part in the call. We, along with fifteen others, qualified for the final itself.

As part of this project, in the next few years we will renovate and preserve the walls, the bridge, we will create gardens in the intermuth as in the times of Bishop Ignacy Krasicki, we will start new educational programs conducted in the renovated rooms of the former kitchen, orphanage and cellars. We will carry out numerous conservation works m.in in the so-called office of Bishop Ignacy Krasicki.
